Penelope Munwai
Accounting Technician AT(SA)
BCom Accounting | SAICA Work Readiness Program | AT(SA) registered with SAICA 2025
Penny studied at the University of Venda and completed a four-month SAICA Work Readiness Program before joining By Numbers in January 2020 as a Trainee Accountant. Her first project was close to the heart of what By Numbers stands for — supporting entrepreneurs from Tembisa and Soweto through the SAICA Enterprise Development program, helping with their bookkeeping while gaining real insight into the challenges facing small start-up businesses.
Since then, Penny has grown into a well-rounded Accounting Technician, offering clients a comprehensive suite of services including payroll, VAT, invoicing, reconciliations, project reporting, funder reporting, tax returns, and annual financial statements. Her portfolio spans a diverse range of sectors — non-profit organisations, educational institutions, Premier League football clubs, and media production companies.
At By Numbers, Penny continues to thrive alongside talented and experienced women who mentor her and encourage her to bring her whole self to work — ideas, energy, and all.
